On the basis of a combination expression, actions can be combined in a combination, for example, a result combination or a load combination. The combination expression is based on the selected standard. This standard can be ASCE 7‑16, for example.
To create various design situations, such as the ultimate limit state, serviceability limit state, fire situation or earthquake, different combination expressions are required. The individual combination expressions are based on various probabilities, which are adapted for the respective purpose of the design.
Entering in RFEM and RSTAB
The Combination Wizard facilitates the task of implementing combination expressions in compliance with standards.
If there is a standard set for the classification of load cases and combinations in the Base Data of the model and the combination wizard is activated, the result combinations or load combinations are created, based on the combination expressions.
If the combination wizard is deactivated, no combination expressions are created in the program. It is necessary to create the combinations manually in this case.
