A background layer is used as a template for graphical modeling, which is thus much easier.
Entering in RFEM and RSTAB
A background layer can be imported using the menu "Insert" → "Guide Objects" → "Background Layer" or the shortcut menu of Project Navigator – Data → "Guide Objects" → "Background Layers". The file to be imported requires a file in the DXF format.
After importing a background layer, pay attention to the setting of the Object Snap: To activate or deactivate the snap mode to background layers, use the
button in the status bar on the right.
Furthermore, you can edit or move the background layer by right-clicking the entry of the background layer in the Navigator – Data.
