A facade analysis is the constructional and structural planning of a facade. While the concept of structural engineering generally refers to the load-bearing and possibly invisible elements of a building, the facade is separate and primarily has an architectural and aesthetic function.
However, the facade is also exposed to various loads, such as wind loads, and thus requires structural design.
Facades are typically made of the following materials:
- Glass
- Aluminum
- Timber
- Concrete
- Masonry
