When creating a surface model in RFEM 6, all surfaces refer to their center surface. The thicknesses of the individual surfaces are considered when determining the stiffness, but not in the geometry.
A surface eccentricity allows you to model staggered surface connections. Thus, you can also connect planar surfaces with different thicknesses flush to the top or bottom side.
