Using c/t-parts, cross-sections are classified into cross-section classes 1 through 4 according to Eurocode 3.

c/t-Part

The most unfavourable c/t-part determines the cross-section class. The classification depends on the c/t‑part support, the stress diagram, the stress force, and the steel grade.

In the program generations RFEM 6 and RSTAB 9, the c/t-parts are denoted as subpanels.
