In the program generations RFEM 5 and RSTAB 8, all parameters for an eigenvalue analysis are defined in natural vibration cases. These include, for example, the number of eigenvalues, the effect of the masses, and various calculation options such as the type of mass matrix or the method for solving eigenvalue problems.
It is possible to create several natural vibration cases and thus to compare different settings with each other.
In order to perform further dynamic analyses, such as the response spectrum analysis or the time course analysis, it is absolutely necessary in most cases to previously define a natural vibration case. This is the basis for further calculations.
