Imposed Nodal Deformations

An imposed nodal deformation is a displacement of a supported node; for example, due to a column settlement.

Important

Imposed deformations are only effective on nodes that are supported in the direction of the deformation.

In the list, select the 'Load Case' to which you want to assign the imposed deformation.

Imposed Deformation

The 'Imposed displacement' can act in the directions that are parallel to the global coordinate system. If the displacement of the supported node is not parallel to one of the global axes, specify the X-, Y-, and Z-components of the vector.

If the nodal support is arranged in a Specific Direction , the displacements refer to the rotated support axes; therefore, we have the designations uX', uY', and uZ'.

The 'Imposed rotation' is also related to the X'Y'Z'-coordinate system of the support. A positive imposed rotation acts clockwise about the corresponding positive support axis.
