There are several ways to start the calculation.
Calculate Current Loading
If you only want to calculate the results of the current load case or combination, select Calculate Current Loading on the Calculate menu. Alternatively, use the 'Show Results' button.
You are asked if you want to calculate the results.
Calculate All
If you want to calculate all load cases, combinations, and design situations, select Calculate All on the Calculate menu. You can also use the corresponding button.
RSTAB calculates all load cases, load combinations, result combinations, and design situations for which input data are available. The calculation is performed in parallel using several computation kernels (see image Calculation Progress).
Load cases that you have excluded from the calculation (see chapter Load Cases ) are not analyzed with the 'Calculate All' function.
Calculate specific load cases or combinations
If you only want to analyze certain load cases or combinations, select To Calculate in the Calculate menu. The 'To Calculate' dialog box appears.
The 'Not Calculated' column lists all load cases, design situations, and combinations that you have created. To transfer an entry to the 'Selected for Calculation' list, you can use the following options:
- Double-click the entry.
- Select the load case or combination. Several entries can be selected by holding down the Ctrl key. Then, click the button .
Click 'OK' to start the calculation of the selected load cases and combinations.
Cloud Calculation
If the options for Cloud Calculations are activated, further entries are available in the 'Calculate' menu (see image 'Calculate' Menu for Cloud Calculations ). Use these functions to perform calculations on a high-performance external server. This option is particularly recommended for complex models containing many load combinations.
Calculation process
The calculation process is shown in the 'Calculation Progress' window. In the 'Convergence Diagram', you can also observe the progresses of the maximum displacements in addition to the passed calculation steps.
