Imperfections

Imperfections are deviations of structural components due to manufacturing and construction. Many standards specify how to consider such imperfections in the analysis. Imperfections can be defined by means of an equivalent geometry as well as equivalent loads.

The imperfections are organized in the navigator and in the table as follows: The Imperfection Cases category manages the general conditions of the imperfections. The Local Imperfections subcategory describes specific imperfections of the imperfection cases, such as inclinations of members or initial bows of members.

In the table, the imperfection cases are managed together with the local imperfections in the Imperfections category.

Important

In contrast to RSTAB 8, imperfections do not represent load cases, but independent categories.
