The Response Spectrum Analysis add-on is an extension of Modal Analysis. Seismic analyses are performed using the modal response spectrum analysis. The spectra required for this can be created in compliance with the standards or user-defined. The resulting forces and deformations are calculated based on these specifications.
The main features of the "Response Spectrum Analysis" add-on are:
- Response spectrum library of numerous standards (EN 1998, DIN 4149, ASCE 7 – IBC, SIA 261, and so on)
- Option to use user-defined response spectra or those generated from accelerograms
- Direction-relative response spectrum approach
- Manual or automatic selection of the relevant mode shapes for response spectrum, for example, to apply the 5% rule according to Eurocode 8
- Creating result combinations by modal superposition (SRSS or CQC rule) and by directional superposition (SRSS or 100%/30% rule)
- Optional automatic consideration of accidental torsional effects
