To reduce the deflection of the arch structure, stay cables have been installed on both sides. These are supported by an engineering innovation: four shuttle-shaped lattice columns.
Structure
The moment of inertia of the shuttle-shaped lattice column continuously changes along the column body, reaching the maximum moment of inertia at the middle of the column span. Thus, the columns allow for achieving a higher stability than in the case of comparable column structures.
Due to the unusual structural shape, RWIND was necessary to calculate the wind pressure distribution. RFEM was used to design the steel structure and to create a detailed model of the cable clamp.
Thanks to the integrated solution of Dlubal Software, it was possible to carry out the wind tunnel simulation, cable form-finding, design of the steel member structure, and a detailed finite element analysis of nodes in a single program.
