Macon-Bibb County Middle Georgia Regional Airport Terminal

A distinctive, guitar-shaped facility is being developed to serve private aircraft and charter flight passengers at Middle Georgia Regional Airport. The building is designed to reflect Macon's rich musical heritage.

The new $14 million "High Note Aviation" building will replace the former Lowe Aviation facility, which has been in operation for over 75 years. While continuing charter services, the new structure will also function as a fuel center, maintenance hub, and terminal for private aircraft. Construction is expected to begin in 2025.

Dlubal customer EQUILIBRIUM used RFEM 6 in a variety of ways on this unique project. Small stand-alone models were made in the early phases of design to generate rapid designs for the glulam framing members. As the design progressed, a full building frame model was created to track loads, perform analysis, and create final design checks. A few small stand-alone models were also made to model unique CLT conditions, utilizing the RFEM 6 Multilayer Surfaces add-on.
