The result tables of the Strains on Surfaces category contain the result values of the determined strains.
The surface strains are sorted in the tabs according to the following criteria:
- Loads (design situations, load combinations)
- Surface properties (materials, thicknesses)
- Objects (surfaces, FE mesh points)
Surface No.
For each strain type, the column shows the number of the surface for which the greatest value is available.
Mesh Node No.
This column displays the number of the FE mesh node for which the maximum strain has been determined.
Mesh Node Coordinates
The global coordinates X, Y, and Z of the FE mesh nodes are shown in three columns.
Design Situation
This column states the number of the Design Situation for which the individual strains are available.
Loading
This column displays the numbers of the load or result combinations that are governing for the respective stress.
Layer No./side
If you have defined a surface by means of layer elements using the Multilayer Surfaces add-on , the numbers of layers are indicated with the respective strains.
For the maximum value of each strain type, the program shows the position in the cross-section of the surface or layer where the strain occurs: Top, Middle, or Bottom.
Strain type
This column lists the strain types that you can define for the Surface Configurations member types.
Strain Provided
RFEM shows the existing strain for each strain type.
Strain | Plastic Available/Limit
For surfaces with the material model Plastic (Surfaces/Solids) displays the existing plastic strains with the corresponding limit value.
Strain Ratio Plastic η
For plastic materials, the last column shows the strain ratios (design ratios) related to the limit value. The utilization degree is expressed by the length of the colored bar.
