Results of Dynamic Analysis

The Building Model add-on is not only useful for structural analyses, but also for dynamic analyses. The result tables described in the chapter Results by Story are therefore also integrated into the Spectral Analysis category of the dynamic analysis as soon as results are available.

The tables themselves are identical to those of the structural analysis. The result values are specially prepared for the dynamic analysis.

In the Sensitivity Coefficients table, you can view the sensitivity coefficients of the individual stories and evaluate whether a second-order analysis is required. This is described in more detail in Technical Article 001866.

The forces of the horizontal transverse shear can be evaluated not only in the table, but also graphically: In Navigator - Results, select the check box for the Vertical Result Lines category and expand the options for the Forces.

The display shows vertical result lines for evaluating horizontal transverse loads and the total seismic shear.

The forces FX and FY represent the horizontal shear loads as a result of an integration of the internal forces. The total seismic shear is indicated at the lowest point of the result line.

Fire Resistance Design with CONCRETE and RF-CONCRETE Members
The reinforced concrete design for fire situations is carried out according to the simplified method based on EN 1992-1-2, Clause 4.2. The "zone method" described in Annex B.2 is used: The cross-section is subdivided into a number of parallel zones of equal thickness, and their temperature-dependent compressive strength is determined. The reduced load-bearing capacity in the event of fire exposure is thus represented by a reduced structural component's cross-section with reduced strengths.

Transfer of Reinforcement from RFEM/RSTAB (Top) to Revit (Bottom)

The reinforcement proposal from RF-/CONCRETE Members can be exported to Revit. The rectangular and circular cross-sections are currently supported.

The reinforcement bars can be modified retroactively in Revit.

Transfer of Reinforcement Objects from RFEM to Revit

Surface reinforcements defined in the RF-CONCRETE Surfaces add-on module can be exported to Revit as reinforcement objects via the direct interface. To do this, you can optionally select surface, rectangular, polygon, and circular reinforcement areas in RF-CONCRETE Surfaces. In addition to bar reinforcement, it is possible to export mesh reinforcement.

Improved Calculation Performance by Optimized Consideration of Nodal Degrees of Freedom in RFEM

The number of degrees of freedom in a node is no longer a global calculation parameter in RFEM (6 degrees of freedom for each mesh node in 3D models, 7 degrees of freedom for the warping torsion analysis). Thus, each node is generally considered with a different number of degrees of freedom, which leads to a variable number of equations in the calculation.

This modification speeds up the calculation, especially for models where a significant reduction of the system could be achieved (for example, trusses and membrane structures).

What is the maximum number of reinforcement groups that can be created in a design case in RF‑CONCRETE Surfaces?
In RF-CONCRETE Surfaces, I get a high amount of reinforcement in connection with a lever arm that is almost zero. How does such a small lever arm of internal forces come about?
When switching from the manual definition of the reinforcement areas to the automatic arrangement of the reinforcement according to window 1.4, the result of the deformation calculation changes, although the basic reinforcement has not been changed. What makes this change?
Why do I get a discontinuous area in the distribution of internal forces? In the area of the supported line, the shear force VEd shows a jump, which does not seem plausible.
Is it possible to perform design without an additional reinforcement in RF‑CONCRETE Surfaces?
I obtain different results when comparing the deformation analysis in the RF‑CONCRETE add-on modules and another calculation program. What could be the reason for this?
