Modeling Story - Rigid Diaphragm

The story modeling 'Rigid Diaphragm' creates a rigid diaphragm from nodal constraints in each defined story, as already described in the previous chapters. For this, the floor is decomposed into floor sets. All results explained in the previous chapter will not be explained further.

Before explaining the results, the distribution of stiffnesses will be explained using this example. The model that you can download here is identical to the example of the previous chapter. The only difference here is the 'Rigid Diaphragm' in the floor modeling.

As already explained in the Building Stories chapter of this manual, the modeling of nodal and line supports can have a strong influence on the results.

To illustrate this, the results from the line support modeling of the 'Fixed hinged support' are combined with the results from the calculation of the 'Elastic wall in the reference model | Hinge-Hinge'.
