Different Restraining Moments Due to Shear Stiffness

I have performed a comparative calculation of a single-nave frame with rigid support nodes. The restraining moments of the frame posts on the supports are significantly smaller than in the structural analysis of the release lever, or in the manual calculation using frame equations. Is there any explanation for this?

Answer:

You probably assumed in the manual calculation that the shear stiffness G·A goes towards infinity.

The reason for the deviating distribution of internal forces and deformations is usually the consideration of the member shear stiffnesses, which is activated by default in RFEM/RSTAB. This option can be deselected in the "Calculation Parameters" dialog box, if required.
