North Arrow and North Orientation

How can I set the alignment to the north and display the north arrow in the graphic?

Answer:

Setting Orientation to North

The north orientation can be defined in the Base Data of the model in the "Settings and Options" tab. The orientation to the north is set to 0° by default. This corresponds to the north orientation along the global X-axis.

Graphical Display of North Arrow

To graphically display the north arrow in the workspace, it is necessary to select the "Show North Direction" check box in the Display Navigator. The north arrow is then displayed in the top view. Generally, no north arrow is displayed in the side view.

The display of the north arrow can also be configured in Display Properties.

North Orientation in Printout Report

If the north orientation has been activated in the "Settings and Options" tab of the Base Data dialog box, it will also be documented in the printout report. You can find this information in the "Model – Base Data" chapter of the printout report.
