Compatibility of Previous SHAPE-THIN Cross-Sections with SHAPE-THIN 8

Is it possible to import and edit cross-sections created in the previous program versions of SHAPE‑THIN in SHAPE‑THIN 8?

Answer:

In SHAPE‑THIN 8, it is possible to open the cross-sections created with the following program versions:

  • SHAPE-THIN 5.xx,
  • SHAPE-THIN 6.xx,
  • SHAPE-THIN 7.xx,
  • SHAPE-THIN 7.5x, and
  • SHAPE-THIN 8.xx.

The cross-sections can be opened from the Project Manager (Image 01) or using the menu File → Open (Image 02).

However, it is not possible to import cross-sections created in the DOS versions SHAPE‑THIN 1.xx and SHAPE‑THIN 2.xx into SHAPE‑THIN 8.
