The structural system of the station is based on three steel canopies, precisely modeled in the structural analysis software RFEM 6. The truncated shape of the canopies, symbolizing their roots in nature and ecology, was carefully crafted to ensure the visual coherence of the project.
In addition to the steel frame structure, the final cladding made of aluminum sheeting was integrated to the station design. These elements contribute not only to the overall esthetics of the structure, but also to its weather resistance and durability over time.
Structural Analysis and Design
The design and construction of a structure of this scale requires a detailed analysis to ensure that it meets all safety and quality standards. The "Steel Design" add-on for RFEM 6 was used for the steel design of the structural components. The connections were designed using the "Steel Joints" add-on. In order to verify the structure's resistance against earthquakes, detailed seismic design checks were carried out.
Furthermore, GH Hervouet, the client responsible for the entire carpentry, roofing and cladding project, implemented its own quality control procedure. It was based on in-depth engineering know-how and proven experience in the construction industry, which ensured the reliability and efficiency of the structural project.
