To ensure traceable validation and consistent documentation of the evaluation of model formulation and the associated numerical solution method, a report should be prepared that includes the following content:
- General descriptions of the CFD calculation
- Positions of comparison points (must be identical for model verification and validation)
- Convergence and stationarity
- Computational grid, grid quality, and grid dependency
- Order of discretization (e.g., first order or higher)
- Temporal discretization (single-step or multi-step methods, explicit or implicit methods, time step size, total simulation time)
- Solution method (direct or iterative) and applied pressure correction (e.g., SIMPLE, PISO, etc.)
The current solution methods and computational settings should remain identical for all calculations in the explicit evaluation process.
