1st Congress on Structural Engineering

TAE – Technische Akademie Esslingen e.V. is an institution for professional training and further education located in Ostfildern - close to the state capital Stuttgart. With business areas ranging from mechanical engineering to IT and management topics, they offer around 1,000 events a year with more than 4,000 top-class speakers from research and corporate practice.

Our COO Daniel Dlubal was invited as referent to the conference "1. Fachkongress Konstruktiver Ingenieurbau" at the TAE – Technische Akademie Esslingen e.V. to hold a presentation about relevant BIM interfaces for structural engineers. Structural engineering is extremely versatile and constantly changing. The new congress showed the change in the extremely versatile structural engineering and offers all those involved a competence platform for overall structural planning.

In his presentation, he informed about the most important BIM interfaces between CAD and structural analysis software applications. He also went into the various technical models and special features of a BIM-based structural design. Finally, he explained the challenges and opportunities in the use of direct interfaces and open formats such as IFC and SAF.
