The architectural competition was won by the design by Ingo Schrader, Berlin, in cooperation with the structural engineers Bollinger + Grohmann. The structure consists of circular roofs with a diameter of about 25 m, which rest on pyramid-shaped columns. The roofing at the North Gate was completed in August 2013.
