Service Classes

Info

Depending on the selected design standard, this type of timber design is also referred to as "Moisture Classes" or "Service Conditions."

For the sake of simplicity, only the term Service Classes is used in this manual.

The classification into service classes allows you to assign strength parameters. By default, all members and member sets are assigned to the same Service Class 1. If the service class of the structural component differs, the input for the corresponding member or member set must be adjusted.

Info

The definition of the service class only influences the ultimate limit state design. For the serviceability limit state design, the creep coefficient can be defined in the parameters of the Design Standard.
