Parameterizing Model

As an advantageous product feature, RFEM and RSTAB programs provide parameterized entires to create or adjust models using variables. This allows you to define the model and load data as dependent on certain variables (for example, for length, width, traffic load, and so on). These variables are also called parameters. They are clearly recorded in a list in the program. Moreover, you can use the parameters in formulas to determine a value. So if you change a parameter in the parameter list, the results of all formulas using this parameter are adjusted.

This part of the manual shows how to define global parameters and how to use them in order to find the optimal position of bracing (Member 5). This position is described by the position of Node 5 in relation to Member 2, and the position of Node 6 in relation to Member 3.
