Part 1: Theoretical Background
Part 1 includes all important basics of bridge construction referring to pedestrian bridges consisting of timber material. Furthermore, it provides an overview about the design principles, actions, structural components of a timber bridge, transportation, and assembly.
Part 2: Dynamic Analysis
The second part deals with the natural frequency of pedestrian bridges.
Part 3: Project of Pedestrian Bridge
In the third part of the thesis, a draft and structural design of a pedestrian bridge were created, based on the details of the general analysis, design, and structural calculation. First, the structural system was calculated as a 3D model using the frame & truss analysis software RSTAB. Then, it was designed according to the current standards. The structure was designed as a cable-stayed bridge spanning 90 m between both pylons. In total, the timber bridge has a length of 130 m.
