Unifying Nodes

How can I automatically unify two points that are close to each other?

Answer:

When importing a model from a CAD program, the coordinates of some points may not match to the exact decimal place. Then, the program creates two nodes, depending on the tolerance . However, you can automatically convert these nodes into a single node. Proceed as follows:

  1. Select the function Model Check → Identical Nodes in the Tools menu.
  2. In the "Identical Nodes" dialog box, define a greater tolerance.
  3. Click Check Mark , so you can check the model with the new specification.
  4. If nodes that are close to each other are detected, they are listed in groups. You can now define which of these pairs are to be merged into one node.
Tip

The technical article Function "Unite Nodes": Logic and Application for RSTAB 8 provides more information about this feature. These also apply to RFEM 6 and RSTAB 9.
