In the 'Steel Design' folder of the navigator, three configurations are preset for the ultimate limit state, serviceability limit state, and fire resistance designs.
Ultimate Limit State
Double-click the 1 - Default item of the 'Ultimate Configurations' category. In the 'Edit Ultimate Configuration' dialog box, the design settings are managed in three tabs.
There are stiffeners to be applied to the frame girder later. To consider them for the shear buckling design, select the Activate check box of the 'Design of shear buckling' tree item.
The 'Stability' and 'Standard Parameters' tabs control special parameters of the steel design. When you have checked them, click OK to close the dialog box.
Serviceability Limit State and Fire Resistance
The serviceability limit state and the fire resistance are not to be examined for the platform.
To disable the SLS and fire resistance designs, right-click the 'Steel Design' folder in the navigator. Then select Settings in the shortcut menu.
In the 'Global Settings' dialog box, clear the Serviceability and Fire Resistance check boxes in the 'Configurations to Calculate' settings.
Click OK. The 'Serviceability Configurations' and 'Fire Resistance Configurations' categories (see the Default Configurations for Steel Design image) are no more available.
