Notional Loads from Load Case

By selecting the imperfection type 'Equivalent Loads from Load Case', you can define equivalent loads for an imperfection case yourself.

To do this, select a load case in the 'Notional Loads from Load Case' tab or create it using the button Create New Effective Length a new load case. You can only use load cases without an action category as they are not considered in the combinatorics.

In contrast to member imperfections, which are also considered by using equivalent loads, you can apply any loads in the selected load case, which are independent of the axial force.

Calculation

When calculating a load case or load combination with this imperfection type, the equivalent loads are considered in addition to the already existing loads.

Info

The equivalent loads are considered as additional loads in the calculation. They also generate internal forces and deformations as well as the regularly defined loading.

It is not possible to calculate an imperfection case of the type 'Notional Loads from Load Case'. To estimate the effect, you can calculate the original load case instead.
