Since Component 1 has now been completed, it is therefore discussed in more detail here. Component 1 of the Science Park in Linz is a reinforced concrete skeleton structure with a total length of about 492 ft and a variable width of 66-85 ft.

The building consists of a basement used as a parking garage and a ground floor for laboratory use. Above five upper floors are set up, providing space for offices. The floor slabs are designed as reinforced concrete flat slabs and the columns as precast columns made of spun concrete.

The entire structural system is stiffened by four reinforced concrete cores. A special feature of this construction is the partially column-free ground floor. A specific arrangement of hanging steel trusses makes it possible.
