A highlight of the State Garden Show 2014 in Baden-Württemberg was the almost 131-foot-high lookout tower, Himmelsstürmer. It is made of approx. 6,215 ft³ cross-laminated timber and consists of an inner and an outer tower.

In the area between the inner and outer walls, a staircase with 209 steps leads up the tower.

The structural analysis of the lookout tower was performed by Andreas Wirth from Freiburg, using RFEM and the RF-LAMINATE add-on module.
