Elastic Nodal Support 1

Often, it happens that stress peaks occur on a nodal support that is attached to a surface. You can avoid such singularities by modeling the nodal support as a column.

To open the "Edit Column" dialog box, select "Edit Nodal Support" → "Elastic Support via Column in Z". In the left picture, the nodal support (point support) is replaced by an elastic node support that softens the singularity.

Furthermore, you can choose the modeling as "elastic surface foundation" and as "node support with adapted FE mesh". The support conditions on the head and base of the column can be set as well.
