RSECTION 1 | Section Properties and Stress Analysis
With the stand-alone program RSECTION, Dlubal Software provides you with a time-saving solution for the calculation of thin-walled and massive cross-sections. The program determines the section properties and performs a stress analysis.
The seamless integration with the FEA software RFEM and the structural frame & truss analysis software RSTAB allows for efficient cooperation. RSECTION cross-sections are available in the RFEM and RSTAB libraries, and you can easily import the internal forces in the programs.
Various Open and Closed Thin-Walled and Massive Sections
RSECTION by Dlubal Software is an advanced tool for professional engineers. It features an extensive cross-section library and an extensible library of material properties, and allows for importing DXF files.
Extensive library of rolled, parametric thin-walled and thick-walled cross-sections
Extensible library for material properties
Import of dxf files
Cross-section properties of thin-walled or thick-walled cross-sections
Plastic capacity design with interaction of internal forces according to the Simplex Method
Design of reinforcement and the subsequent design of concrete cross-section in the Concrete Design (see Product Feature)
Saving cross-sections as a block
Scripting with JavaScript
Interface with MS Excel for exporting tables
Connection to Webservice & API (for example, optional creation of cross-section and access to result tables)
The graphical workspace is the central part of the user interface. This is where you create the model, define loads and evaluate results. You can intuitively control the view by clicking or rotating the cube (hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse pointer). Alternatively, you can also adjust the view directly using the mouse functions.
Navigator
The Navigator manages the model data clearly in a tree structure. At the bottom, there are three tabs (four after the calculation) that allow you to easily switch between the Data, Display, Views, and Results sections.
Tables
The data is managed in a clear and organized manner in the form of a spreadsheet in the Tables. You can select a specific table using the lists of main categories and their associated subcategories.
Control Panel
The Control Panel contains a legend that makes it easier to find your way around the model results. In addition, the control panel provides basic controls that you can use to customize and optimize the display of the results.
A key strength of the Dlubal programs is the intuitive and easy-to-learn user interface. RSECTION 1 uses the same proven operating logic as the main programs RFEM 6 and RSTAB 9.
You can conveniently create and analyze cross-sections in a familiar CAD environment or in tabular form. Right-clicking on graphic objects or in the navigator quickly opens shortcut menus that make creating and editing objects easier. The intuitive handling allows you to quickly define cross-sections and implement changes immediately.
Dlubal continues to develop its programs on an ongoing basis. RSECTION 1 provides a variety of new features that make your daily work significantly easier and more efficient. Some of these new features are presented here:
I would just like to send a quick note to wish everyone at Dlubal well, in particular I would like to say thank you for the fantastic, thorough and professional support you provide.
RSECTION provides you with an extensive library of rolled and parametric cross-sections. You can combine or extend them.
Use the graphical tools to model complex cross-sections using the CAD technology. You can create arcs, circles, and other shapes, or use a DXF file as a basis.
You can also easily create the cross-sections made of various materials. Parameterized entries allow for dependency on variables.
RSECTION calculates the relevant cross‑section properties, including the plastic limit values. It determines ideal values for the cross-sections with combined materials.
Use RSECTION to calculate stresses due to various forces and moments, and determine the equivalent stresses according to Mises, Tresca, and Rankine.
RSECTION also offers everything you need in terms of overview. You can evaluate and visualize all results in an appealing numerical and graphical form. Selection functions support you in the targeted evaluation.
The printout report corresponds to the high standards of the FEA software RFEM and the frame analysis software RSTAB. Any modifications are updated automatically. You don't have to do anything for it.
If you are looking for models to practice on or as inspiration for your projects, you've come to the right place. We provide you with a vast number of structural analysis models to download, such as RFEM, RSTAB, RSECTION, or RWIND files.
