Material Nonlinearity in FEA

🌍 Material Nonlinearity in FEA 🌍

Material nonlinearity is a crucial aspect of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), revealing how materials behave once they exceed their elastic limits. In linear analysis, stress and strain are directly proportional. However, in nonlinear analysis, we observe how materials deform as they yield, harden, or ultimately fail. 💡

In the video below, you’ll see a surface with linearly elastic edges and a central section modeled with a bilinear plastic stress-strain curve. As the load increases, the central area gradually undergoes plastic deformation.
