Graduation Thesis | Structural Response of Balloon-Type Cross-Laminated Timber at Component and Building Levels

🏗️ Advanced Research on CLT Shear Walls in Seismic Design 🌍

This thesis pushes the boundaries of structural engineering by examining the lateral and uplifting responses of unbonded post-tensioned balloon-type CLT shear walls. Using RFEM 6, traditional sensitivity analysis, and machine learning algorithms, critical parameters influencing structural performance are identified. Machine learning, paired with Shapley Additive Explanations (SHAP), provides valuable insights into factors affecting lateral resistance and uplift.

This research demonstrates the potential of blending computational techniques with classic engineering, advancing resilient and sustainable building solutions.
