Shortcuts

Is it possible to assign a key combination to frequently used functions such as "Find via Number"?

Answer:

You can access the frequently used functions and commands in the program by using the integrated keyboard functions (shortcuts). For example, to print a graphic, the corresponding keyboard shortcut is [Ctrl]+[V]. Some important keyboard functions are listed in the Keyboard Functions chapter of the RFEM 5 manual.

If you want to assign user-defined shortcuts in RFEM 6 or RSTAB 9, proceed as follows:

  1. In the Options menu, select the Customize Menus and Toolbars function.
  2. All commands are sorted by category in the "Customize" dialog box. Select the Category of the command in the left column.
  3. Double-click the middle column (1) in the row of the command.
  4. In the "Set Shortcut" dialog box, you can now enter a user-defined combination (2).
  5. Click the Set button to assign the shortcut (3).

Please note that some key combinations may already be used by the operating system for other functions. Make sure that the combination you select does not conflict with any existing shortcut.

Tip

If no dialog box is active, the [Enter] key calls up the last function you used. This helps you to easily set model or load objects in the work window again, for example.
