[EN] FAQ 000654 | How can I apply concentrated loads to a curved surface?

Question:
How can I apply concentrated loads to a curved surface?

Answer:
Concentrated loads can be defined on curved surfaces as follows:

Model a line through the curved surface that intersects the surface at the locations where the concentrated load is to be applied.

Select the "Connect Lines/Members" function in the "Tools" menu.

Use the mouse to draw a rectangle in the area where the line intersects the surface. On the surface, points are created.

The points now rest exactly on the surface. However, they are not yet connected to the surface. This is done automatically for planar surfaces. For curved surfaces, the points must be integrated manually. To do this, double-click the surface where you want to integrate the points. Select the "Integrated" tab and add the numbers of the points to the list; for example, by clicking [Select].

All points and lines that are no longer required can be deleted.

Now, you can apply the concentrated loads to the integrated points.
