I'm excited to celebrate the opening of a project by our valued customer Werkraum Ingenieure ZT-GmbH - the BORA Flagshipstore in Herford, Germany! After two years of construction, this architectural marvel is now open, offering a unique combination of cutting-edge design and sustainability.
With a total area of 2,000 m², the building features state-of-the-art kitchen exhibitions, professional training facilities, a restaurant, and spaces for events. But what truly sets this building apart is its dynamic design—it looks as if the wind itself had shaped it!
Key Features of the BORA Flagshipstore:
𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻: The building features a combination of galvanized steel, perforated steel parts, and colorful glass elements that create the effect of a floating structure. The cantilevered design spans 100 meters!
𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗳: At 13.5 m in height, the glass and metal roof has two 63 m² sliding sections that allow natural light to flood the space, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere.
𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲: With a KfW 55 standard, this building consumes only about 55% of the energy of a conventional new building—leading the way in sustainable construction.
🔧 Engineering Excellence by Werkraum Ingenieure ZT-GmbH
Our customer, Werkraum Ingenieure ZT, was responsible for the structural analysis and design of this stunning steel structure. Using #RFEM, Werkraum designed the steel structure and the underground reinforced concrete components, performing dynamic analyses to ensure optimal performance.
The result is a dynamic structure that blends effortlessly with its surroundings, setting a new standard in architectural innovation and sustainability.
