Neglect Masses

In the DYNAM Pro add‑on module for RSTAB, you can now neglect masses that may have a negative effect on the equivalent mass factor when calculating eigenvalues. To do this, you can disable the masses under [Details]. These include primarily mass points located in the support of the structures.

Problem explanation and solution: So far, all the masses of a structure have been used in the eigenvalue analysis. In certain structures, this may cause the equivalent mass factor usually used for the seismic design not to reach 90% of the total mass, as the masses cannot oscillate in the supports (due to the boundary conditions). This new option allows you to simply set these masses to zero, which causes the equivalent mass factor to increase so it can easily reach 90% of the total mass.
