Calculating Unreinforced Foundation

In RF-/FOUNDATION Pro, you can also calculate unreinforced foundation plates according to Section 12.9.3 of EN 1992-1-1 [1]. To do this, select the "Without bending reinforcement according to 12.9.3" check box in the "Foundation Plate" section of the "Details" dialog box.

The design of plain foundation slabs is carried out by keeping the ratio of foundation depth to foundation projection (overhang), The following applies:

0.85 \cdot \frac{d}{a} \geq \sqrt{\frac{3 σ_{gd}}{f_{ctd, pl}}}

d	Foundation depth
a	Foundation projection from the column face
σ_gd	Design value of the ground pressure
f_ctd,pl	Design value of concrete axial tensile strength
