Designing structures for earthquake resistance is an important and constantly relevant topic. Many aspects can be simulated through collapse simulations.🔍
Do you want to simulate the collapse of a structure designed in RFEM 6❔ Try IFC and Blender❕
The Bullet Constraints Builder (BCB) is a scripted add-on for #Blender with a collapse simulator. We used these two programs together with #RFEM6 from Dlubal Software and the Modal Analysis and Response Spectrum Analysis add-ons.📈
We performed the collapse simulation on a model exposed to an #earthquake. Accelerogram was imported into BCB as a CSV file from the Dlubal add-on. In RFEM 6, the accelerogram was taken from the earthquake records database | Honshu Island Earthquake 11.03.2011 - magnitude 9 on the Richter scale.
To export the model from RFEM to Blender, we used the open format IFC. ✅
We are #BIMopen!
