Question:
How can I apply the wind load by an angular function to the surface (for example, a grain silo, curved wall, and so on)?
Answer:
To enter the wind load on a rotational shell, RFEM provides the option of linearly variable load distribution.
To enter the data easily, it is better if the shell is composed of several sections. Eighth-circle segments would be well suited for this. The loading can then be defined in the local z-direction with a linear load distribution (see the image).
Depending on the required accuracy, you can also reduce the sections, of course.
