The objectives of the thesis include the analysis and evaluation of different foundation types on the basis of the specific example of an already completed social building, located in the Elbe flood plain.

The following types were analyzed:

  • Type 1: Slab foundation - a reinforced concrete slab with an elastic surface foundation
  • Type 2a: Bored pile foundation - a reinforced concrete slab with a downstand beam system
  • Type 2b: Bored pile foundation - a reinforced concrete slab with point supports
  • Type 3: Combined pile-slab foundation
