Hi. I'm trying to figure out hw to set thee contact between 2 surfaces of coated fabric as a weldment.

Hi Tomasz, the way you did it in the attached file is not so bad. In the file, the surfaces overlap. This means that the stiffnesses in this overlapping surface are added. If it's enough to account for the increased stiffness, then that's fine.
If you are interested in the shear stress in the weld, then the weld could be modeled as a solid.

Hello Frank,
Exacltly what I actually want to achieve was to be able to define the overlap as a connection.
How to model the solid for the shear stress?
I was trying it following a webinar, but I get all the time an error.
I would appreciate if you could help me further

Hello Tomasz, I have attached an example file.
First, I moved the one surface by 1 mm in the Z direction. This creates a gap that is equal to the thickness of the surface.
At the end of the overlap area I drew a line and divided the surface there.
Then I added boundary lines for the side surfaces and added the side surfaces.
Then I created the solid from the surfaces.
Finally, I adjusted the FE mesh settings for the solid. I set a layered mesh and defined mesh refinement.
