Timber and steel bridge in Kempten with Howe truss.
King Louis Bridge, which was built in 1852, is a stunning example of engineering architecture in Germany. Since 1986, this historic timber railway bridge has served as a pedestrian and cyclist bridge, spanning the 30-meter-deep Iller River Valley. For Bauen Construction Group, who undertook the remodeling, heritage protection, preservation of the historic character, and sustainability were critical goals.
