Eurocodes

Continuous planning with RSTAB and RFEM 

Take advantage of the framework program RSTAB and the FEA program RFEM to ensure a seamless planning process for designing 1D, 2D or 3D structures according to Eurocode. The entire planning can be performed consistently according to the relevant European codes, from the automatic generation of load and result combinations to structural calculations, from the generation of wind and snow loads to dynamic analysis. Depending on the programs selected for the software package you can design any kind of structure, whether it consists of steel, reinforced concrete, timber or a mixture of materials.

Basics (EC 0)



RSTAB/RFEM

Load and result combinations can be generated according to EN 1990 (Eurocode 0) in both main programs. In addition, it is possible to determine imperfections according to Eurocode in RSTAB and RFEM. The actions are assigned to the action types described in the standard. Then, RSTAB and RFEM combine the load cases according to the selected design situation.

Actions (EC 1)



RSTAB/RFEM
RSTAB and RFEM provide an option to generate wind and snow loads. No additional module is needed for the generation. When the required parameters like wind and snow load zone, terrain category, topography type or roof geometry are entered, the program creates the respective loading automatically.

Reinforced Concrete Construction and Prestressed Concrete Design (EC 2)



EC2 for RSTAB/RFEM


is a program extension of the add-on modules CONCRETE and CONCRETE Columns, RF-CONCRETE (RF-CONCRETE Surfaces and
RF-CONCRETE Members), RF-CONCRETE Columns and RF-PUNCH for reinforced concrete design of beams, columns and plates (RFEM) according to Eurocode. In addition to the general ultimate and serviceability limit state design, it is possible to perform a stability analysis for columns according to EC 2. Fire protection designs according to Eurocode can be carried out additionally for columns and members.

Steel Structures (EC 3)



RF-/STEEL EC 3
The add-on module RF-/STEEL EC3 performs all typical designs for steel structures according to Eurocode 3, including ultimate limit state, stability, deformation and fire protection. You can take advantage of many useful features such as the automatic cross-section classification, the cross-section optimization or the definition of lateral intermediate supports. Moreover, it is possible to enter protective coatings for the fire protection design.

Timber Structures (EC 5)



RF-/TIMBER Pro
The add-on module RF-/TIMBER Pro is used to design timber members and sets of members according to Eurocode 5, performing the stress and the stability analysis as well as the serviceability and the fire protection design. The stand-alone programs of the RX-TIMBER family, offering clearly arranged input tables, allow for a comfortable generation and design of roof trusses made of glued-laminated timber, continuous beams, columns, purlins and frames according to EC 5.

RF-SOILIN
If you want to determine elastic foundations according to EC 7 by means of given soil layers, use RF-SOILIN. When all soil parameters are entered, the program determines the elastic foundation coefficients and shows you the stress diagrams and settlements.

RF-/DYNAM Basic with RF-/DYNAM Addition II


With the add-on module RF-/DYNAM you can analyze eigenvibrations and vibrations due to external excitation. RF-/DYNAM Addition II allows for the generation of equivalent seismic loads according to the multi-modal response spectrum method in accordance with Eurocode 8. When you have entered the standard parameters, you can display the design spectrum graphically. The results output includes modal masses, participation factors, equivalent masses, equivalent mass factors and equivalent lateral loads. The generated equivalent loads can be exported automatically in the form of RSTAB or RFEM load cases.
